Who said global warming would slow down capitalism?

Although the world has found itself mostly underwater, we need heating and air conditioning and automated water bailing units a lot more now than we ever did. When the tides had consumed most of human civilization, one beacon of hope remained: a few brave power stations. They stood firm, belching smoke and producing electricity as if they hadn’t noticed the ocean lapping at their foundations. Like cockroaches after a nuclear blast, they were indestructible.

One of these stations, nicknamed "The Last Smoker", became an international sensation. People paddled up to it on makeshift rafts, clutching solar-powered smartphones to live-stream the iconic smokestacks pumping what little carbon was left into the atmosphere. It was inspiring, really.
